Guest Book
Here are just a few extracts taken from the La Cardabelle
Guest Book, the Guests are not only giving their comments about the
villa but also telling us what they enjoyed in and around the area.
2005
“We have thoroughly enjoyed our week at
La Cardabelle. The villa is very comfortable, spacious, well
equipped, quiet and an ideal base for exploring the area. A
highlight of our stay was canoeing on the R. Herault upstream of St.
Guilhem.
We’ve had a great holiday”.
“We’ve had a wonderful holiday in this
superb house – generously equipped. Pool so appreciated. St. Guilhem
le Desert beautiful, especially early in the day before the visitors
arrive.
Thank you for all your kind provisions
for us.”
Had a lovely restful holiday in a well
equipped and comfortable house. Children enjoyed the pool and wendy
house. Pezenas is worth a visit for shops and restaurants.
“Excellent holiday for 2 families.
House very well equipped and comfortable. Pool kept children very
happy. Aqualand in Cap d’Agde well worth a day out. Viaduct at
Millau very impressive. Lucky enough to see water jousting at Sete.
Superb house for exploration.
Thanks for facilities and arrangements.
2006
“A wonderful holiday in a fantastic
property ideally located for peace and quiet but also to discover
the amazing Languedoc countryside and history. So many highlights,
the Millau Viaduct, the paths of the Knights Templar and the
Hospitaller of the Lazarc, St Guilhem le Desert and the Clamouse
Caves, all the above within easy driving distance. Pool was well
enjoyed by all the family in the hot weather.”
We had a superbly relaxing time in
Cabrials. The villa was perfect for recharging drained batteries.
“The villa is ideally located for getting out and about…Sete,
Pezenas and Meze (fantastic seafood!!). Thank you for a gorgeous
place to stay on our holiday, we will be coming back.”
We have had a fantastic time and loved
every minute. The kids loved the pool & the play area & we loved the
fine local wines and French cuisine. It is well worth taking a walk
around the vineyards (turn left out of the villa) If heading out for
a meal we would recommend Restaurant La Tournesol in Clermont
l’Herault, fabulous food and a family area if you have children.
Full marks to La Cardabelle!!”
“This beautiful appointed house has
been a wonderful haven from the cares of working life. You should
venture into the hills and follow the trail of the Knights Templar
or go to Pezenas and spend time (and money) in the many lovely craft
shops, The jewellery and wood turning are quite superb.
Thank you for a delightful stay.”

“Wonderful weather, fantastic part of
France, many places of interest…..villa is the perfect location,
comfortable and equipped with everything you could need….but….just
great!”
J & D. Watts, Leatherhead
“La Cardabelle exceeded all
expectations. Our 2 grand daughters loved the play area and turned
the play house into a pirate camp. With young children Captain
Jacko’s at Cap d’Agde was perfect for them and a step over the
boardwalk onto the sand and the Med proper was great. We had a very
good lunch looking out to sea at the restaurant Le Reef, a really
good day out. Canoeing at St, Guilhem was a success too. The
children loved pony rides at the Domaine Trois Fontaine, towards
Canet. Tennis in the village (Cabrials) – ask at the shop and you
can join for a year for 18 Euros!
The weather has been excellent...pool
hit 29 degrees!”
M. Party, Fyfe and Edinburgh
“We shared this lovely, well kept and
well equipped house one week with senior Norwegian friends and one
week with our Danish family, children and grandchildren. For both
groups the house was a fine frame for social life. We enjoyed the
friendly attitude from people in Cabrials, the little shop is
perfect.
Thank you for a good welcome.”

“Had a fabulous stay here, Nimes and
Carcassonne well worth a visit, also enjoyed a trip to the Millau
Viaduc, villa very well equipped.”
“The Villa is great and especially the
pool and sun loungers, loved the Boules Court. The markets had lots
of good food and fruit to buy, L’epicerie very helpful and great to
have. Cabrials & the area very pretty. Many thanks Pauline and
Thomas, yourselves and Aurore were very helpful.”

“We all had a fantastic time, villa and
pool lovely, hope to visit again soon. Lovely area will recommend to
friends.”
“Fantastic villa – truly an excellent
location and very well equipped.
Must do’s: Pezenas, Montpellier, Millau
Viaduct, Meze.
Needs: Nothing really – Broadband would
be useful (sad I know)”
“Wonderful house, great area, great
weather & perfection was reached when we found the cafateire! So
much to see and do, Meze, Marseillan a delight, St. Pons de
Mauchiens is beautiful, the wines of the area a revelation. We’ll be
back!”
Mac. Family and Friends, Scotland
“PS: The children say a big thank
you for all the toys”.
2009
Excellent Villa and facilities, great
base for touring the area, we found Pezenas and St. Guilhem
particularly attractive, our daughter and partner also took the 12
km kayak adventure from
St. Guilham.
Cabrials is a very pretty village with
nice rural strolls in all directions and delightful birds and frogs
chorus, the red squirrel visiting the garden was also a delight.
The Jones Party from Shropshire
We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay –
perfect villa, wonderful pool, great location.
We will miss this place, and especially
taking pre-dinner drinks at the Epicerie.
We had great seafood at Meze.
Thank you so much. We have loved your
beautiful villa with all its great amenities. The hamlet is perfect
and everyone so friendly. We enjoyed ordering our croissants and
baguettes and our pre dinner drinks at the Epicerie. Mostly we
wanted to relax by the pool but we did manage some lovely day trips
to St. Guilhem de Desert and le Grau d’Agde (excellent beach, surf,
sea food).
The nearby ferme has stunning goats
cheese and the local cave rose is delicious for 2 euros.
Thanks again and to all who follow –
enjoy.

The Robinsons from Dublin
What a fabulous retreat, it didn’t take us
long to get into the routine of swim, eat, swim, drink, swim. How
lovely it was to eat all meals outside, often surrounded by mummy
red squirrel who treated us to an audience with her beautiful
kittens – what a thrill that was!!
Best day out for children aged 9-15, plus
mum and dad was canoeing on L’Herault from
St. Guilhem. It was a beautiful day out
which encompassed lots of river swimming, picnicking on deserted
beaches and mini rapids. Swimming under Pont du Diable was
brilliant, take water shoes – it is really stony and snorkels as the
water is very clear with lots of fish.
A truly wonderful 2 weeks, thank you for
making your lovely French home available to us..
The Jackson family, East Sussex
We had a wonderful stay at La Cardabelle
and enjoyed the house and the pool very much, we had a crowd of
young children and they simply adored the little playing area as
well as the toys that were provided for the pool, very thoughtful
and appreciated.
Thanks for a well equipped house – nothing
is missing.
